Language Builder: Sight Words & Phonics Cards include 1,597 downloadable word cards which can be used in conjunction with all of our Language Builder Picture Card Sets to teach reading of sight words and basic phonetic reading words. To create this word list we surveyed a wide collection of early reading programs and assembled a clear list, which merges words from:

• Dolch Service Words
• Dolch Nouns
• Fry Lists Words 1-400
• List of labels that correspond to the Language Builder Picture Card Sets

The words include the labels for all of the Language Builder nouns, verbs, emotions, prepositions, and opposites cards, merged with the Dolch 220 service word list, the Dolch 95 Common Nouns list, and the first 4 frequency groups of the Fry Sight Words. We rounded this out with a few CVC words which are ideal to start with in phonics and spelling.

This set of word cards is available to download and print. The words are presented 4 to a page, and can be cut out to use separately.
